
Development of the educational program

The educational program 6B04204 - "Judicial and Prosecutorial and Investigative and Forensic Activities" has been implemented by the Department of Criminal Law Disciplines of the Faculty of Law since 2019. The program is in high demand, as evidenced by the annual enrollment of applicants. Currently, 143 students are enrolled in this program.
The development of the educational program actively involves employers, such as representatives from the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, senior students, and stakeholders who contribute to forming the catalog of elective courses.
The educational program 6B04204 - "Judicial and Prosecutorial and Investigative and Forensic Activities" is focused on a comprehensive and systematic approach to delivering educational services, aimed at meeting the needs of the labor market and the requirements of employers in law enforcement activities, as well as in the work of government, judicial, and law enforcement agencies.
The program prepares bachelors with fundamental knowledge and practical skills to solve problems in the implementation of criminal policy within the judicial, law enforcement, and prosecutorial systems. The uniqueness of the program lies in its balanced approach, integrating scientific achievements and practical activities in the field of law enforcement, which contributes to the preparation of highly qualified and competitive specialists.
The program also provides students with theoretical knowledge and professional skills necessary to solve problems in the field of criminology and legal research, as well as to effectively apply the norms of criminal, civil, and administrative law.
The department continues to develop new educational programs for the master's level. For example, 7M04209 "Forensic Expertise" and 7M047204 "Judicial Power and Criminal Justice," which are focused on scientific and pedagogical directions and actively incorporate practical training using the latest technologies and cooperation with employers and law enforcement agencies.
The "Forensic Expertise" program was developed in 2019 to train specialists for the application of specialized knowledge in criminal, civil, and administrative legal proceedings. In 2021, the first cohort of master's graduates was produced, all of whom were employed. The program includes interdisciplinary elements aimed at solving practical legal problems and conducting research in the field of forensic expertise.
Within the framework of the "Judicial Power and Criminal Justice" educational program, specialists are also actively trained, gaining in-depth knowledge in judicial power, human rights activities, law enforcement, and criminal justice. This program combines theoretical education with practical skills, making it highly sought after by students and professionals in the field.

In accordance with the recommendations of the External Expert Commission (EEC) and labor market requirements, the Department of Criminal Law Disciplines has developed a development plan for educational programs for 2023-2027. The plan includes the further improvement of existing programs as well as the introduction of new courses that meet current global educational standards.
The main areas of development include:
- Expanding interdisciplinary courses and integrating innovative technologies into education, including the use of forensic and legal information systems.
- Developing academic mobility and expanding partnerships with foreign universities and research institutions for experience exchange and the implementation of best global practices.
- Enhancing practical training for students by increasing the number of internships in law enforcement agencies, courts, and the prosecutor's office, as well as by participating in scientific and expert research.
- Strengthening cooperation with employers and law enforcement agencies to develop new courses and improve educational programs based on current needs and trends in the labor market.
This plan is aimed at improving the quality of the educational process, enhancing the training of specialists in forensic expertise, criminal justice, and human rights activities, as well as increasing the competitiveness of graduates at the national and international levels.
