
International cooperation
Information on the international activities of the IL department
The Department of International Law of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU Faculty of Law pays special attention to activities in the field of international cooperation. Due to its positive image and recognized reputation, the department closely cooperates with renowned universities of the near and far abroad. Cooperation agreements and a dual degree program have been signed with a number of successful universities, such as the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN), Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University (KFU), and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan (AGUPRT).
From the 2022-2023 academic year, we began to develop cooperation with the Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics (Tajikistan), Osh State University (Uzbekistan), National Research University Higher School of Economics (Russia), from the 2023-2024 academic year - with the Kyrgyz National University, Tashkent State Law University. Starting from the 2024-2025 academic year, negotiations are underway on cooperation with the East China University of Political Science and Law (Shanghai, China), Vilnius University (Vilnius, Lithuania). In the 2025-2026 academic year, international cooperation towards Chinese partners expanded through cooperation with universities such as Peking University, Gansu University of Political Science and Law, and Kashi University. This academic year was also marked by the establishment of business relations with European partners. In particular, a number of universities in Great Britain, Ireland and Slovakia have expressed their willingness to cooperate with the department and our university.
As part of incoming academic mobility, we have been working closely with APAPRT since September 2020. During the 2020–2021 academic year, 57 2nd, 3rd, 4th year undergraduate and 1st year graduate students arrived. During the 2021–2022 academic year, 21 students arrived. During the 2022–2023 academic year, 7 students from APAPRT studied.
In the spring semester of the 2022–2023 academic year, students from the Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics and Osh State University also studied under the incoming academic mobility program.
In the autumn semester of 2023–2024, 6 foreign students from APAPRT studied, and in the spring semester of the 2023–2024 academic year, 11 students came from APAPRT and the Zh. Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University.
In the fall semester of 2024-2025, 11 students from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Hanoi Law University (Vietnam), and the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan are studying.
In the 2025-2026 academic year, about 30 foreign citizens are studying at the department, most of whom are students who arrived under the academic mobility program. The department demonstrates a steady growth in the number of incoming academic mobility students.
From the 2021–2022 academic year, the implementation of a double degree program with ASURT began. For the 2021–2022 academic year, 8 master’s students arrived to study under the double degree program from ASURPT in the first year. Second year on the basis of AGUPRT. For the 2022–2023 academic year, 6 master’s students were admitted. For the 2023–2024 academic year, 6 master’s students were admitted.
As part of outgoing academic mobility, 3 3rd year students applied to study in Malaysia and Turkey. In the spring semester of the 2021–2022 academic year, student Kuzhakhmetova Zh. studied at the University of Malaya. For the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year, 3rd year student Tokanova Nazerke went to Adam Mickiewicz University (Poland), and 2nd year doctoral student Almasuly Arlan studied at the University of Genoa (Italy). For the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, 3rd year student Nurtugan Zhansaya went to Menzu University (China). In the fall semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, two 3rd year students Zeynelgabi Amir went to the University of Gdansk (Poland) and Mynbaeva Nazira went to Adam Mickiewicz University (Poland) under the academic mobility program.
For the 2024–2025 academic year, 15 foreign citizens are studying in the International Law educational program:
- 4 first-year students;
- 1 second-year student;
- 2 third-year students;
- 1 first-year master's student in the scientific and pedagogical master's program;
- 2 second-year master's students in the scientific and pedagogical master's program;
- 5 specialized master's students;
- 6 first-year master's students and 6 second-year master's students of the scientific and pedagogical master's program (under the "double degree" program with AGUPRT. Negotiations are currently underway to sign a memorandum with the East China University of Political Science and Law (Shanghai, PRC) and the Shanghai University of Political Science and Law (Shanghai, PRC). Moreover, in 2024, the Faculty of Law joined the Association of Law Schools of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
